She seeks to make the experience of owning furniture an inspiring one where pieces evoke an emotion within their users and tell a story that is personal to each one of them. With an engineering foundation, an entrepreneurial specialization, and experience in marketing and design, she brings in a multitude of perspectives. This allows her to design furniture pieces that connect well with the person and with the market. Rita won the A’ Design Award in 2018 for her design The Crystal Tables and she has participated in exhibitions in Como, Beirut, Dubai, and Berlin.

She creates unorthodox tools to stimulate and empower children, and encourage them to step out of their comfort zone through play. Her work includes illustration, play design, graphic design, event design, and digital & physical toys and games. She brings the child's perspective into her designs through research, playtests, observation, interviews & workshops. As well as working with a suite of award-winning studios, Nalisha has had utterly unique life experiences, including being a Bollywood child actor and marrying a tree. During her early education, all her designs were termed as ‘cute’. This led her to question the very attribute and break out of it through experimentation with the unconventional. Studio Oddball is her playground.

Jaimie Ota is a student studying Industrial Design at Academy of Art University. Knowing that she wanted to pursue a career in arts and design, she began her undergraduate studies at Pasadena City College. After years of trying out different artistic mediums she appreciated many creative outlets. Graduating from Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising she was able to pursue an inclusive field called Visual Communications. She worked at a few companies that designed and created visual displays and props for major retail companies. She learned to create props for storefront, window displays. Her work has been displayed in many stores such as Macy’s, Nordstrom and St. John. Eventually, she wanted to develop designs that would help people with their lifestyle. Industrial design is a process of creating new products from beginning to end. She now wants to learn how to identify problems, develop ideas and through a process, create efficient solutions. After she graduates, she hopes to work for companies to do design in home goods and furniture. During her quest for knowledge, she acquired several scholarships and worked part-time to support her pursuit of her pathway. She works as a freelancer, personal assistant, dog-sitter and a caregiver.
